Grab your passport because we're leaving the United States and heading to other countries and cultures. This semester we're going to read and discuss only world literature selections from outside the United States. Of course, you'll be discussing those selections with your classmates right on this page.
while the wait before the day came when they actually did the rebellion some of the animals were getting prepared to learn farm tasks. for example the pigs learned to read and write as well as to do human things around the farm. the others just waited for the pigs to tell them what they had to do when the day came. because some of the animals didnt seem to care that made it almost impossible for them top carry out the plan. but at the end they all participated.
ReplyDeleteThe animals such as the pigs were teaching themselves how to read and write from old books they found. The animals were attending meetings held by the pigs, trying to organize the soon to come rebellion. The other animals besides the pigs had many questions but really didn’t understand the answers. They went on with what ever the pigs said anyway because they were smarter. The pigs being able to read and write showed the possible uneven levels of equality. They were the ones who came up with the commandments and rules of the farm. They also began to take control of the farm, handing out work here and there. Soon they manipulated all the animals in believing that all the milk and apples should be for them and them alone.
ReplyDeleteBoxer's attitude truly shines in chapter two and shows that he is dedicated to working for everyone's benefit in this rebellion, not just his own. Boxer is also one of the unintelligent animals. Unfortunately this may make him vulnerable to directions, for example, he may just do whatever someone tells him to do and will not ask questions.
ReplyDeleteIn the three months after Major's death, many of the animals begin preparing for the rebellion. Though some of them think that, since they have been told that the Rebellion may not even happen within their lifetimes, that their efforts are wasted. However, they prepare themselves nonetheless, and most importantly, choose the three pigs Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer as their leaders. These pigs learn to read and write and develop the philosophy and ideals of Animalism as well as the rules they will all live by when the humans are overthrown. You can tell, though, that things are not playing out quite as Major hoped at the end of Chapter 2, when the only animals suited to milk the cows are the pigs, giving them an advantage. This is subsequently followed by their taking the milk for themselves which is supposedly for the good of the others, but seems to have selfish motives.
ReplyDeletewhile the animals waited, the pigs taught themselves to read and write. the other animals attended meetings lead by the pigs to discuss the rebellion. The other animals went along with whatever the pigs said because they were unable to understand the upgraded word choice, also because the pigs are preserved as being smarter then the other animals. The pigs knowledge foreshadowed the levels of inequality. The pigs began to take over the farm by telling the other animals what jobs they had to do, writing the commandments, and by manipulating the other animals into believing that all the milk and apples should go to them so they can stay strong or else Mr. Jones would come back and take over the farm.
ReplyDeleteThroughout the chapters the pigs were basically getting all the other animals ready for the rebellion. They teached everyone how to read and write, and also made meetings for all the animals to attend so everyone could be focused and know the actual game plan of the rebellion. All of the animals just contiued to play their part on the farm. Later in the book since the pigs have been helping all the animals they believed that they should be feed things other animals shouldnt. This would not help at all becuase unitelligent animals such as Boxer, the hardworker would keep working hard without wondering or asking questions.
ReplyDeleteDuring the three months after Old Majors death, there was one event that caught my attention. it was the fact that the pigs spent their time reading and learning trades of the man. These animals want to hate man yet they are learning the same things as their enemies. Secondly the pigs are eating the milk in their mash and are saving the apples for themselves. This in a way foreshadows that not all the animals are equal and that some animals will always rise on top. The pigs from their actions so far are not to be trusted and will probably be doing the opposite of Old major's philosophy of Animalism.
ReplyDeleteDuring the three months, the pigs were busy learning how to talk and read/write. The other animals weren't doing anything to prepare. After the rebellion, the pigs assumed the positions of the leaders of the farm, which will probably cause an issue with equality. The pigs will start to feel above the rules and the other animals and make everything happen towards their advantage. Like communism in a lot of countries, the idea will sound good but corruption of the government will destroy it.
ReplyDeleteDuring the 3 months, the pigs have been planning and preparing for the movement. They have been spending their time learning to read, write and learning to do some of the work humans do. They also spent some time deciding on how the farm would then be run. This foreshadowed that there may not be equality between the animals because the pigs held their own meetings instead of including all the other animals and their thoughts and ideas. Which later on would basically put the pigs on top to rule because they already know how to read and write and to add to it they already made up the rules.
ReplyDeleteIn the time after old Majors death the animals didn't waste any time. The began to teach themselves how to read and spell, create the philosophy of Animalism, and began having meetings to organize the rebellion. Some possible foreshadowing i see is that the pigs who began to learn trades of the man to help the rebellion however they create the rule to not tough or bother with the objects of man and vowed not to touch anything within the house. This shows how the pigs have total authority and may use this to their advantage.
ReplyDeleteAfter Old Major's death the pigs soon began to take there leadership roles on planning a rebellion. The pigs are so smart they taught their ownselves how to read and write. They even made up there own commandments for the animals to obey. Some animals didn't even know what the pigs was even talking about, so they just go with the flow. Then the forshadowing takes place when the pigs tells everyone to not touch anything in the house. Next thing you know the pigs are taking books from the house and reading them right in front of the other animals. This shows how the pigs are bending their own rules for their own sake.
